Traffic Signal Systems Committee Mid-Year Meeting





The 2013 Transportation Research Board (TRB) Traffic Signal Systems Committee (TSSC) mid-year meeting is being held in Portland, OR at the Embassy Suites Downtown!

This years’ mid-year meeting theme is You Get What You Measure and will include sessions and technical tours highlighting best and emerging practices in performance-based, outcome-oriented signal systems. The fun and exciting line-up for this jam-packed meeting includes a bike tour of Portland on the city's famous bike facilities, a group tour and dinner at Widmer Brothers Brewery, and a technical workshop, which will include the updates on the Second Edition of Traffic Signal Timing Manual and best practices with performance-based signal timing and regional cooperation.

Technical tours being offered over the course of the meeting will cover areas such as integrating streetcars, light-rail, buses, pedestrians and bikes into the signal system, adaptive signal control with transit signal priority, dynamic Flashing Yellow Arrow indications, Bluetooth travel time measurement system, air quality measurement system, and much more.
